Who Are TSZX?

Lina - Dana - Stephanie - Sunday

The Grace (Korean: 천상지희 더 그레이스; Chinese: 天上智喜 The Grace) is a South Korean a capella girl group formed by SM Entertainment in 2005. It consists of four members that specialize in singing, dancing, and acting.

The Grace was known as TSZX before the promotion of their 3rd Korean single (My Everything) around the end of 2006, at which the group changed their name to The Grace to signal the change of the group's style to a more “graceful” one. TSZX is the romanization of the Mandarin Chinese pronunciation, Tiān Shàng Zhì Xǐ. In Japan, the group is still officially known as Tenjōchiki, which is also abbreviated (though less frequently) as TJCK.

Loosely Translated and Paraphrased from Korean:
TSZX, who has been recently staying in Japan, released their most recent appearance on their homepage.

TSZX has been spending the last three months in Japan and after announcement of new concerts, will continue their stay in Japan.

The natural look of the released pictures has caused interest for many of the fans.

The photo shoot took place on the streets of Shibuya. Sunday's pictures were the latest released.

They showed a pure look in cool clothing as they released pictures of them walking throw Shibuya.

The absence of Stephanie from the pictures sparked the curiosity of many fans.

TSZX are known to be very mature on stage, but we have a feeling they are innocent, cute and vivacious off the stage.

Cliff Edge Blog: Report About 4 Great People

Posted by Anonymous On Monday, September 22, 2008 1 comments
Loosely Translated and Paraphrased from Japanese:
Yesterday, TSZX and Cliff Edge received media coverage. Every weekend in August I was feeling something I hadn't felt in years. Why was I awkward with TSZX? Because it's TSZX! I think many people would suddenly, no, I did even, cry.

Each of the characters is in their name:
Stephanie: Dancer (天)
Lina: Beauty (上)
Sunday: Voice (智)
Dana: Happiness (喜)

They are really amazing, but I'm just a speaker:
Stephanie is a good dancer
Lina looks beautiful
Sunday is singing to the norinori
And Dana is always: "Georgia, I will smile and yell!"

It is really surprising and exciting looking into their name.

We just finished shooting and are still hyper:

Looking back on the interview, it felt like the good old days. We have now become good friends with TSZX!

Classic: Barks 'Boomerang' Interview

Posted by Anonymous On Sunday, September 21, 2008 1 comments

Loosely Translated and Paraphrased from Japanese:
- Cheon Sang Ji Hee is a group where the members have had solo activities in the past in South Korea?

Stephanie: Yes. The members of the group have had solo songs before Cheon Sang Ji Hee's official debut in April 2005. This is everyone's first debut in Japan besides Sunday.

- Yeah, Sunday debuted a year ago in Japan right?

Sunday: Yes. But I knew being solo and being in a group would bring different types of tension. Of course it was also encouraging. Of the four members of Cheon Sang Ji Hee, three of them it is their first time in Japan. We took great care with the first recording and I think they found a lot of difficulty with the language barrier.

Dana: This was my first time in Japan, with all the activities, living environment and recording, it was very overwhelming.

Lina: When I tried to record with the Japanese accent many of the staff looked a little annoyed with me. Still, the staff was friendly and worked with us to overcome these problems.

Stephanie: When I heard we were going to debut in Japan I was very happy. But when we actually began recording, I felt a lot of pressure. After the singing was done and everyone was satisfied, I think a lot of people will want to listen!

- Your debut song 'Boomerang' deals with a cheating relationship. The single-minded thoughts of a guy the girl loves. In the end, he decided to say goodbye but the girl's strong will carries the song.

Lina: Yes, strong emotions were necessary to sing this song.

- Yes, the four vocals contributed to a very strong atmosphere and much needed momentum for the song.

Stephanie: Yes. We wanted the sound to leave a very strong impression.

Dana: The phrase I like is '今夜も獲物探す/ tonight I will find my prey,' having this much free expression is really fun.

- Looking into the content of the song, I feel that it will do well in the charts.

Sunday: Really? That's great! 'Boomerang' is a song that was made for our South Korean activities. I though singing the same lyrics in Japanese would be hard. However, a strong image of women is expressed in the dance. A version will also be released with the PV so please look forward to it!

- The b-side is 'Do You Know?' In comparison to 'Boomerang' it has a very gentle melody.

Sunday: Yes, it has a cute girl image and is filled with positive feelings. The song has me as the main vocals while the other three help with the chorus. We all like the song, and with me as the main vocals I get to sing the way I want to!

Lina: This is a style of song that is sung in Korea, so it was very fresh to work on it. But since we are an a cappella group, it worked also.

Dana: In Korea we do a cappella and R&B songs in addition to having good beauty and harmony. We hope to sing more songs like this in the future in Japan so please look forward to it!

Stephanie: For all the songs I helped with the choreography! A cappella, dance, songs of different genres, Cheon Sang Ji Hee delivers many independent styles. One day, I hope to do a live concert.

- I look forward to that. However, with working in Korea and studying Japanese, you also have two more months in Japan right? Your Japanese must being really good then!

All: Not yet.

Sunday: I've gotten into the habit of saying they still aren't there yet (laughs). They work hard every day studying Japanese, so they remember things quickly (laughs).

- Oh yeah, that's right (laughs). We forgot that Sunday has perfect Japanese.

Stephanie: Yes, Sunday is our Japanese teacher! We work hard to look good for the Japanese public.

Sunday: Oh no, I'm still not fluent yet (laughs). I have to be careful talking in front of these three. But please, continue to watch the four of us and cheer!

Classic: Jang Geun Suk's Confession

Posted by Anonymous On Friday, September 19, 2008 0 comments

Loosely translated and paraphrased from Japanese:
Actor Jang Geun Suk recently made a confession about his "brotherly relationship" with idol group TSZX's Stephanie.

On a talk show hosted by Yoo Jae Suk and Kim Won Hee on MBC, Jang Geun Suk regard Stephanie as a close friend with a "brotherly relationship." "Bo Kyeong's (Stephanie's Korean name) parents are overseas, so she will frequently come over to have a meal on one of her off-days."

Jang Geun Suk also had another confession regarding when he saw TSZX perform live. On an SBS music show TSZX appeared, but Jang Geun Suk did not see Stephanie in a brotherly way, but saw her sexy dance moves. "That was only one second, the next moment I looked at Bo Kyeong as usual," Jang Geun Suk said before busting out laughing.

Staff Diary for 09/18/2008

Posted by estelgrace On Thursday, September 18, 2008 0 comments

Rough Translation from Japanese:
Sorry for not updating for a week.

In the past week, Tenjochiki has been flying between South Korea, Shanghai, and Japan. When they returned to Japan, the girls had a bunch of magazine interviews and more info will be out in October on the Home Page.

I might be able to tell you in the staff diary or in the blog not to tease you but to try out a joke.

Also in October, there will be lots of events like festivals and local performances in the future. Looks fun!

They will be going overseas tomorrow (Guam as previously posted) for the 「Near〜thoughtful・1220〜」music video shooting off the 「Here」single.

I hope the company is able to streamline some expenses when we are there.

T/N: The last sentence is a joke by the staff. ^^

Tenjochiki Blog Update

Posted by estelgrace On Thursday, September 18, 2008 0 comments
Dana wrote in her Cyworld:
"TENJOCHIKI WILL BE GOING TO GUAM ISLAND TOMORROW"

"내일은 GUAM으로 떠나요♪
제가 없는 며칠동안 불청객들의 횡포를 막기 위해 잠시 닫아놓을게요
다녀오겠습니다"

Translation:
Tomorrow we're leaving for GUAM
I will not be here for a few days, so I will close this cyworld to avoid any uninvited guests.
Dana.

So, the question is: are they going for a holiday? Or something to do with work? The new HERE single release? A photoshoot? MV shoot?
More excitement builds for their next single's release!
