Who Are TSZX?

Lina - Dana - Stephanie - Sunday

The Grace (Korean: 천상지희 더 그레이스; Chinese: 天上智喜 The Grace) is a South Korean a capella girl group formed by SM Entertainment in 2005. It consists of four members that specialize in singing, dancing, and acting.

The Grace was known as TSZX before the promotion of their 3rd Korean single (My Everything) around the end of 2006, at which the group changed their name to The Grace to signal the change of the group's style to a more “graceful” one. TSZX is the romanization of the Mandarin Chinese pronunciation, Tiān Shàng Zhì Xǐ. In Japan, the group is still officially known as Tenjōchiki, which is also abbreviated (though less frequently) as TJCK.

Is CSJH getting ready for a comeback?

Posted by Bunnie On Tuesday, December 14, 2010 0 comments
Fans of CSJH the Grace have rekindled their hopes in a comeback after seeing Dana’s recent tweets.

The group first debuted in 2005 with their single, “Too Good“. Their high quality performance style and outgoing personalities on variety programs shot CSJH to instant stardom.

However, the group disappeared from the public eye after their last single, “Stand Up People,” in 2008. Although Dana and Sunday were at SM Entertainment’s concert in Seoul and Los Angeles, Stephanie and Lina have yet to make any broadcast appearances since 2008.

One fan that dearly missed the group tweeted Dana on December 14th and wrote, “I miss unnis so much. Stephanie unni, Lina unni, Sunday unni, Dana unni, all of you.” Dana replied, “Just wait a bit ^-^ We want to release an album too!”

Another fan asked, “When will CSJH comeback? I am ready to purchase your album,” to which Dana replied, “I think we’ll begin recording by this month.”

Regarding the tweets, representatives of SM Entertainment revealed, “Dana has been recording consistently all this while. However, details are yet to be confirmed on the group’s actual comeback.”

EDITORIAL: Where is CSJH The Grace now?

Posted by Bunnie On Saturday, November 20, 2010 1 comments
Old school K-pop fans will whimsically talk of the days when music was hyped by talent. Today, there is no denying that K-pop doesn’t exude the creative and artistic expression it used to. Of course this isn’t entirely the fault of JYP, SM, YG, or any other big-name entertainment company because they are, after all, at the whim of the public.

Even so, my biggest disappointment with the Korean music industry is that it does no justice to the amount of potential it actually has. Case in point: CSJH The Grace. One can only wonder how a group with such raw talent could have faded into oblivion as it has. Although they are still signed under SM Entertainment, it seems that SM has all but given up on any promotion for these girls. Year after year, there has been speculation of their comeback, and year after year, CSJH fans have been let down.

For those unfamiliar with CSJH The Grace, they debuted as the 4-member female a cappella version of DBSK in 2005. It didn’t take long for them to establish a reputation as well-rounded in terms of vocal talent, dance skills, and stage presence. However, following the success of their first Korean album, they were shipped to Japan and the group focused their activities there. They then came back to Korea, putting out a few singles before heading back to Japan. The back-and-forth activity certainly did not allow enough time to develop a strong fan base in either country. When Girls' Generation entered into the spotlight, CSJH suffered from a case of bad marketing as SM seemed to stop caring for them entirely.

The girls are currently disjointed and doing their own solo activities. Stephanie is in America working with The Los Angeles Ballet for their 5th season; Lina has been working on her Web Shopping Mail Style by L; and Dana is planning to star in the new musical ‘The Three Musketeers’ alongside Super Junior’s Kyuhyun and TRAX’s Jay. Last September, three of the four members - Lina, Sunday, and Dana attended the SMTOWN concert together. Many CSJH fans who also attended cast their disappointed by the lack of support for these girls. Due to their long absence, many of the attendees had no idea who the girls even were.

I think I speak for all of these die-hard, disheartened fans when I say that CSJH is a group too talented to fade out. If they could only make their comeback sooner than later, they would certainly be a breath of fresh air amidst all the digitally enhanced voices that is dulling the current K-pop scene.

Have you listened to some of their tracks before? What do you think of the absence of these girls in the K-Pop world?

Idol Returning as a Ballerina Kim BoKyung

Posted by Bunnie On Sunday, October 24, 2010 0 comments
Ten years as a Ballerina, Stephanie became a member of CSJH - During Japanese promotions injured her back, after 2 years has had a heartfelt successful rehabilitation - She auditioned and made it into the LA Ballet dance team - Folding her dreams as a singer, knocking on it again

Back that felt like it was dragging her body down. Not being able to maintain her body due to fatigue. Breaking into sweat in the cold practice rooms and collapsing to the floor.
Cheers and applause from fans felt as if they were fading. Losing consciousness within these thoughts.

In winter 2008 in Tokyo, Japan near a practice room. With a large concert ahead, the 4 member groups were preoccupied with practice, but one member injured her back. All activities were halted. Nabbing the Asian market was only a hands reach away, but the dream quickly collapsed. The frustration of it felt bigger than the pain in her back.
Dancing was her all, but not being able to do so, cried everyday. At the end of her struggles, she chose to go to the states, where her family resides.

Little by little, within her family, she has found stability. For 2 years she held onto rehabilitating. Winning the challenge of recovering was as sweet as a fruit.
Last month, she auditioned for the LA Ballet Dance club and came out on top as the only Korean dancer among hundreds and placed her name on the list.
It is SM Entertainment's 4 member group CSJH The Grace's member CheonMu Stephanie (23, Korean name Kim Bo Kyung) is that woman.

Ballet Loving Maiden
At the age of 5, Stephanie first put on her ballet slippers.
She has danced ballet for 10 years prior to being chosen by SME at the age of 16.
She was happy with just dancing.

She enjoyed learning the dances of stars on TV and has practiced dancing on her own.
That is how she met ballet. It was as if it were fate that she came across ballet.

In 1999, she followed her family and immigrated to Southern California, San Diego.
She was able to take great ballet classes there. As if they were gifts, in the San Diego region Black Mountain Dancing Center, she has built talent and skills.

At the age of 12, she won the highest (DaeSang) award at a competition that was sponsored by famous associations. She has then performed as a soloist in the Southern California Youth Ballet.

"Since I loved ballet and was able to keep doing it, I did the best I could. I was happy to be able to get on stage."

Her skills have garnered the attention of many.
Back in 2000, she performed in the Nutcracker in an early summer night. She was praised by the Union Tribune.

In 2003, she was scouted for the Boston Ballet Dance School.
She said her skills must be/is in her genes.

"My mother majored in vocal music (?), so maybe this is how I inherited my (distinct ballet skills(?))" She said.
"I was always interested in music or dancing, so I was able to start them at a very young age because of my mother. I thank my parents for the skills I have and had a great time practicing and performing on stage."

From Ballerina to Idol
Ballet being the only thing quickly changed.
In 2004, SME held a Best Youth Contest at Orange County.
She won best song (?) and was picked.
She was attending San Diego Rancho Bernardo High School at that time.
"I accidentally got into doing it and got to win an award and was asked to become a singer in Korea."

"In between ballet and singing, I thought a lot about it. But for the bigger dream of going to Korea, I temporarily folded my ballet dreams. Even now, I would have still chosen to become a singer." She confessed.

With receiving praise for her singing and dancing, she triumphantly did well in Korea.
Only being a trainee for one year, she was able to debut as a singer. SM was looking for a 4th member for CSJH to break into the Asian market. Being the best at choreography, she acquired the name "CheonMu Stephanie." It means Heaven's Dance.

She was the only member with no past experience in the Korean entertainment.
"Living in Korea was a whole new experience. But thanks to ballet, I wasn't nervous nor shook. I was already fit for performing. The experiences I've had in Korea are unforgettable memories.

After debuting, she has gone on various programs. While showing her dancing and flexibility (?) was able to rise. She was naturally able to gain a strong/warm fanbase. With a goal of breaking into the Asian market, was able to succeed.

Recovering Injury and Ballet
In their advancement in Japan, CSJH held a few concerts and heightened their popularity.
They were able to schedule their first tour.
"In Japan, we lived their for 3 years we slowly found our spot from the bottom and was holding our first concert at that time. Members were overflowing with motivation."
But through those motivations were faults. They held unnecessary practices and put stress onto her back.

"I exercised at this time when my back wasn't even in good condition and continuously practiced dancing, so I think that resulted in injuring my back. I was given time to rest, but it was not getting any better. So I had no choice but to return to the states to my family."

Living in the states was no picnic(?) either.
Due to the pain in her back, it was uncomfortable. For months she never set foot out of her home. She was far from being able to dance. Tears would not stop flowing and fell into depression. The one thing that was able to help her back up was ballet.

"In order to move my body again, I went through therapy to rehabilitate. During that time I visited the ballet school I went to when I was a kid. It's been years since I've left that school, but nothing changed.

With the encouragement from the company, she slipped back on her ballet slippers. She followed the advice of the director and acquired a certificate.
"Restarting ballet, it felt like I was returning back home. I've been working on ballet and recoring. Eventually in 2 years, I was able to finish rehabiliating and was able to dance again."

With her body becoming more healthy, she was able to gain confidence. She started studying and with the support (?) from the Korean Arts University, was able to feel the happiness and what it is like to be a college student. Taking absence/leave from school, she went back to the states and in the Los Angeles Ballet aduitioned in "The Nutcracker." She has once again been able to raise her name as the only Korean ballerina.

"I am determined to give it my all in whatever casting I receive as a ballerina. To everyone who has supported me when I was on stage, I will pay you back. After finishing this year-end (?) performance, next year I will return back as a singer to once again take up a new challenge in my dreams as a singer."

With dreams of becoming a future ballet director, "Within a hard and tiring circumstance/situation, in order to acquire my dreams, I am working hard. I want to become an outstanding example to Koreans. Please watch me rising back up like a roly-poly(?)."

The Future of the Graceful 4 Network

Posted by Anonymous On Thursday, September 09, 2010 0 comments

It's been probably a year since we had a proper mod post, and after all the "excitement" of SM Town Live in LA, I figure now is a good time to make one. As usual, the regular bullet points.

The Graceful 4 Network as a Whole:
When we first started the G4N in 2008, there was pretty much no organized fan base of CSJH. There was UnSpeakable, but they were on a hiatus. We were lucky enough to begin with Graceful Subs and grow alongside CSJH popularity, mainly with their Japanese activities. Since launch the G4N now includes: GracefulSubs-KR, GracefulSubs-JP, Elegance Forums, Eternal-Shapley and TSZX News. We've had many volunteers and staff along the way who have helped build the network and make a base for CSJH activities.

Fast-forward to today, there are probably two versions of each of the original G4N sites. Instead of trying to be competition, we will be restructuring the G4N to work more efficient and allow others who have more time to work on other sections.

GracefulSubs KR and JP:
Although these are the "flag ship" sites of the G4N, if no new material is released by the girls, they will remain dormant. On another note, both accounts have been flagged/ banned by Japanese and Korean networks. If either account is deleted we will not be bringing it back. To be perfectly honest, many of the files have been lost over the years or the video quality had died.

Elegance Forums:
Elegance was meant to be a replacement for UnSpeakable. When it was first launched it was successful. Now, it is pretty much dead. Due to this, we will be closing it on October 1. We would like to keep it open, but it would make no sense to entice people to sign-up to a ghost town forum. In the post below, you can find information about an alternative website.

Eternal-Shapley:
Eternal-Shapley will remain up, but since there are no new audio or video files, it will remain as it. We do not want to be big proponents of illegal downloading, so if a file dies or does not work, we will not re-upload it. Buy the media or look to other site to find it.

TSZX News:
As you may have noticed, we are "killing" off many of the sites of the G4N. The one that will remain is TSZXN. Instead of spreading across six different sites, most activity and energy will be devoted to TSZXN. The same guidelines as before apply: we will not post random photos or Cyworld updates just to take up space. As a new procedure, any post not really important to pertaining to the girls will be directly linked to the Twitter and no post will be made here. This includes general SM news that mentions the girls for maybe a line or two.

We will be switching to a "Lina-Dana-Sunday-Stephanie" updating scheme versus general CSJH. For those who monitor the tags, they may have noticed the increase in the individual names. This is to keep their "solo" activities divided and easily accessible.

A special case is Stephanie. We will not be posting any pictures of her that come from Facebook, especially if the Facebook is closed. Cyworlds are open to the public, but if a Facebook page is closed and somehow someone found a picture of Stephanie, we will not impede on someone else's privacy by posting the picture.

---

In a nutshell the G4N will now be TSZXN and the G4N Twitter. We're happy all the various channels helped improve the popularity of the girls and spread news internationally, but we are at the point where our staff have real lives and have other obligations. Thanks to everyone who submits information and uses the services we have provided for the past two years. We'll continue to be the base of international CSJH news.

New layout for TSZXN will be functional around the end of September, beginning of October

(As a final side note, we realize other people want to help spread the news of the girls, but do not take our content and remove credits. We may not have 1,000 followers on Twitter or 100k site visits, but we do have enough followers to show we get our info first. It's not that hard to give us credit).

Forever Shapley International Forums Hiring

Posted by Anonymous On Thursday, September 09, 2010 0 comments
Note: This is a project from nikz99 at Soompi Forum. This forum is unrelated to the Graceful 4 Network, so any questions you have please direct them to the e-mail listed in the post. Since Elegance is closing October 1, this is another outlet for the CSJH fandom.

It’s been a long time coming – but I’m going to make it happen: Forever Shapley, CSJH The Grace’s International Forum is finally on its way. (Special thanks to pyscho_bunnie for the name ♥) I’ve a forum board up already, but I still need help on the domain provider, sections and other fun stuff we, as fans, can all enjoy. It’s been tough since the girls have been inactive as a group for over a year and a half now but we have to keep believing in them and the fandom. An official international forum is just what we need to make this happen.

I was surprised to see people still active in the fandom: both here in LiveJournal and in Soompi. Honestly it brought tears to my eyes, but let me stop there. The point is… the forum is almost complete. I say this because I know what I want it to look like, and what it should contain – I’ve been working on it with a friend (Founder of ShadesofJae’d, Kyramelodya) but I still need help from the people I know can understand the feelings I have for this group of girls. So here it is:

I’m recruiting staff! I am in dire need of Tech Admins, Moderators, Uploaders, Donators, Translators and Graphic Designers. In case you (or if you know anyone) who might be interested for these positions (esp. Tech Admins, Translators and Donators), please do apply! However, if you are unsure of what these jobs entail and is interested on how to apply – then read on to find out.

JOB DESCRIPTION AND APPLICATION INFORMATION

Tech Admins – aka, Coders. I need people who are capable of coding websites to make the forum look and work better. People applying to this job should have at least some knowledge or experience on coding websites and/or layouts. If you have any examples, I would love to see them.

Moderators (Global and Section) – The Global Moderator is the person who will take care of all the moderators. This is the person I will directly call upon – my right hand if you will, to see if there are any problems in the forum. As for Section Moderators, these are people who are capable of taking over sections put under their care. They should be able to implement the general rules of the forum to the members and keep everything in order in their sections.

Uploaders – What is a fan forum without a section on downloads? I need people who are capable of uploading media files in quickly to help enrich the forum’s contents.

Translators – Most of our news comes from Korean Shapley and/or the girls’ Cyworld pages. And I’m sure not everyone is familiar in the Korean Language. People who are applying for this section should have at least an intermediate knowledge on the Korean Language.

Graphic Designers – I honestly cannot handle this section all of the time, and I would love to have more people come and help out with this section. Applicants should have at least a skill in Photoshop and can readily submit their work promptly. I will also need examples so I can determine which ones I can use on the team.

If any of you are interested in becoming one of Forever Shapley’s staff, then please send your application! The application process goes like this:

On the subject line please write: Application – *Write here which position you would like to apply for. Multiple position applications are fine.*

Now, for all applications, the body of your email should have the basic information:

NAME:
NICKNAME:
(if you have one)
AGE:
EMAIL:
LOCATION/TIMEZONE:
LANGUAGES YOU SPEAK:

Then, depending on what position you are applying for – you must add the following:

UPLOADERS
HOW FAST IS YOUR CONNECTION SPEED?

TECH ADMINS/GRAPHIC DESIGNERS
WORK EXPERIENCE:
(if applicable)
EXAMPLE OF WORK:

MODERATORS (GLOBAL/SECTION)
HAVE YOU ANY MODERATORSHIP EXPERIENCE?
If so, what community/forum?
WHAT IS YOUR APPROACH IN MODERATING?
(Only for Section Moderator applications) IS THERE ANY PARTICULAR SECTION YOU WOULD LIKE TO BE APPOINTED TO?

Sections proposed are: News Section, The Girls’ Section (Lina, Dana, Sunday, Stephanie), Community (Members) Section, Media (or Download/Streaming) Section

HOW MANY HOURS CAN YOU DEDICATE TO THE FORUM?

After you’ve filled up what is required for your position application, send it to forevershapley@gmail.com! I will email back with the forum’s temporary board (but for MODERATORS – you will still need to pass a test. From there, I will choose the Global Moderator and assemble the Moderator team to register and help out with the rest.) so that successful applicants can register and we can start working on making the forum.

Now, before I finish this – there’s just one last thing: if there are any of you who are willing to share a few dollars for us to buy a domain name, it would be greatly appreciated. I promise you that you won’t regret it.

That’s about wraps it up for me right now. I’m going to go back working on the site. I hope a lot of people can apply. I’m looking forward to getting those applications! I apologize for the length of this post - but being thorough (or anal, it's up to you) is better than not at all.

'SM TOWN LA Performance’ To Be Released In Theaters In 3D

Posted by Anonymous On Tuesday, September 07, 2010 0 comments

The SM TOWN Live ’10 World Tour in L.A. performance is set to show in cinemas as a 3D movie.

The concert, held on September 9th at the L.A. Staples Center, was filmed by PACE which was founded by ‘Avatar’ director James Cameron and specializes in 3D movie production. Not only will the footage be used in promotions for sponsor Samsung Electronics’ 3D display products, it will also be created into a movie and shown in theaters.

A representative of SM stated, “The movie will probably be released in theaters between the end of this year and the beginning of next year. We believe it will be popular, not only in Korea, but also in China and Southeast Asia.”

Girls’ Generation and BoA have already filmed music videos with PACE, but this will be the first time that a Korean concert has been filmed in 3D. The PACE team and Samsung have already worked with hip-hop group Black Eyed Peas in their Manhattan, New York performance in March.

Take a Peak at the SM Town Chartered Flight

Posted by Anonymous On Sunday, September 05, 2010 0 comments

A couple of days ago, the SM family boarded their plane at Incheon Airport for their next stop of SMTOWN Live ‘10 World Tour in Los Angeles, which will be taking place on September 4th.

For the very first time, SM Entertainment raked up a whopping 1 billion won for the expenses of their own chartered plane, a Boeing 747-400, which calculates to $851,000 USD. A total of 250 people, including staff, bodyguards, press reporters and 40 of SM artists, were all on board to LA.

The first artist to step foot on the chartered plane was Super Junior’s leader, Lee Teuk. Through the in-flight mic, Lee Teuk said, “When you talk loudly in public places, people glare at you and say, “Do you guys think you own this place?” Why yes, we really do own this!”, which made everyone laugh.

Kim Min Jong and Kangta had a fun time of their own, acting as stewards as they went around the whole plane, serving wine and swiping cards, and when they finished, Kangta made a toast to ‘South Korea to the world‘.

The first floor business section of the chartered plane consisted of Kangta, BoA, Kim Min Jong, DBSK’s Uknow Yunho and Max Changmin, SNSD and f(x). Super Junior and SHINee took over the business section of the second floor. Given the nickname ‘Charlie’s Angels‘, SNSD’s Yuri and actress Lee Yeon Hee sat together to gossip.

Inside the chartered plane, BoA commented, “I always travel to America, but since this time I’m going with other artists, it feels really good”, while Yunho adding, “It feels like we’re going on a reunion trip.”

Line up SM artists such as Kang Ta, BoA, Yunho, Changmin, Super Junior, SNSD, SHINee, f(x), TRAX, Kim Min Jong, Yeon-hee, and Ara will unite to do the concert performance together for all fans in LA. For this purpose, a Korean Air Boeing 747-400 that has capacity of 300 people is specially chartered to fly all the artists and staff members.

Special thanks again to psycho_bunnie at the CSJH Soompi Thread for the heads up.
In 2007, after CSJH The Grace released their 1st album "One More Time, OK?" they have not been doing activities. They come back on stage with a non-rusting vocals and powerful performance that crazed fans.

At 4PM on the 21st at the Seoul Jamsil Olympic Stadium, SMTOWN Live 10 World Tour was held where CSJH started their performance from their 3rd single title track, "My Everything."

After singing 'Passion (My Everything)' the members stated "We are very happy to meet everyone after a very long time."

Afterwards, CSJH performed their hit title 'One More Time, OK?' showing off their powerful vocal skills that heat up the atmosphere.

Before the concert at the press conference, CSJH member Dana stated, "We have been resting and enjoying the time off, since it's been a long time since we've performed we prepared a lot."
