Who Are TSZX?

Lina - Dana - Stephanie - Sunday

The Grace (Korean: 천상지희 더 그레이스; Chinese: 天上智喜 The Grace) is a South Korean a capella girl group formed by SM Entertainment in 2005. It consists of four members that specialize in singing, dancing, and acting.

The Grace was known as TSZX before the promotion of their 3rd Korean single (My Everything) around the end of 2006, at which the group changed their name to The Grace to signal the change of the group's style to a more “graceful” one. TSZX is the romanization of the Mandarin Chinese pronunciation, Tiān Shàng Zhì Xǐ. In Japan, the group is still officially known as Tenjōchiki, which is also abbreviated (though less frequently) as TJCK.

CSJH’s Stephanie becomes a dance student

Posted by Anonymous On Tuesday, December 29, 2009 2 comments

What more can this dancing diva learn? CSJH's Stephanie became a dance student at The Korean National University of Arts in the dance major.

She got accepted and will start attending classes in 2010. I'm not surprised she got accepted, she's known for being one of the best dancers in k-pop.

Her company, SM Entertainment, commented, "She did get accepted. She will be a new student in the graduating class of 2013. She's always wanted to learn more about dancing so she practiced hard for this opportunity."

She's done ballet since she was a little girl and has won numerous dance competitions. Maybe she's meant to do just dancing rather than be part of a group.

Leeteuk and Dana next on We Got Married?

Posted by Anonymous On Wednesday, November 25, 2009 0 comments

There were rumors flying around that Super Junior's Leeteuk and CSJH's Dana might be next on We Got Married.

However, Jung Yoon Jung PD from the show cleared things up quickly, "I've heard about those rumors as well but it is not true. We interview a lot of people to be on our show, but they haven't even been interviewed by us."

After Hwang Jung Eum and Kim Yong Jun announced their departure from the show recently, a lot of netizens have been speculating on who's next in line to replace them.

One netizen even said that they spotted Leeteuk and Dana shooting something together. But for now, it seems that the rumors are just false.

But do you think they would've made a good couple?

KARA’s Gyuri could have been in CSJH?

Posted by Anonymous On Wednesday, November 25, 2009 0 comments

KARA's Park Gyuri was on today's episode of Sang Sang Plus Season 2.

Gyuri shared how she almost got chosen for CSJH The Grace, the SM Entertainment girl group that includes Sunday, Dana, Stephanie and Lina.

She said, "When I was in 7th grade, I auditioned for SM Entertainment. The director of the company really liked me. He told me he liked my eyes because they reminded him of Kangta's eyes. Then he told me I should do a duet with Dana. I almost got chosen to be part of CSJH, actually."

Come to think of it, Gyuri does look a bit like Kangta! It's weird to think Gyuri could've been part of the SME family.

H-Eugene and CSJH’s Sunday ring the “Love Alarm”

Posted by Anonymous On Friday, November 20, 2009 0 comments
After two very long years, CSJH member Sunday finally reclaims her position on the stage during her collaboration performance with rapper H-Eugene for his comeback single, Love Alarm.

H-Eugene is very well known in the kpop world for his collaborations with very popular artists. Previous singers such as YeEun of the Wonder Girls, Bae Seul Gi, and Lyn were just some of the artists featured in some of his earlier works. Although Love Alarm originally featured 8eight's Joo Hee on the actual mini album, today's Music Bank performance put life back into at least one of the members of the inactive SM girl group The Grace.

Check out the comeback of two very talented artists right here:

CSJH’s Sunday back on Korean stage after a long absence?

Posted by Anonymous On Wednesday, November 18, 2009 0 comments

Sunday, from the almost forgotten 4 member group, CSJH, will be back on a music program after 2 long years!

It's hard to believe that this mildly promoted group is in the same company as SNSD, no?

According to KBS2TV's Music Bank website, Sunday is listed on the performers lists for this week's show. She is set to feature for hip-hip artist H-Eugene's performance, pitching in her vocals.

H-Eugene on the 18th said, "'Love Alarm' was a song originally recorded by Nora Eights. I'm pretty good friends with Sunday and when I asked her to feature for me, she readily accepted."

The last time we saw CSJH was when they were promoting One More Time, Ok? back in 2007. After that, they have been just doing activities in Japan.

Stay tuned here on allkpop for her, and maybe even CSJH's comeback!

"By L Style" Clarification

Posted by Anonymous On Saturday, November 14, 2009 0 comments

This post is to give clarification on Lina's new company "By L Style" and it's relation to SM, TVXQ and CSJH. The majority of these views are by fan speculation from CSJH's Soompi Thread, replies to the allkpop post, and various other sources. Nothing is set in stone, but these are the most obvious developments:

1. What is "By L Style"?
- "By L Style" is an online fashion mall (like an online clothing store) based in Korea. Lina is the CEO, Chief Stylist, and model for the company. The website is currently up and active, it can be viewed at http://www.byl.co.kr/ (link).

2. In relation to the TVXQ thing
- The different between this venture and the TVXQ controversy is that Lina owns the store. The three members of TVXQ (JaeJoong, Junsu and Yoochun) were investors in a Chinese cosmetics company. Other artists on SM have had their own side business ventures while still being under the company (BoA's jewelry company, Dana's nail salon and Yoochun's gelato company). Based on BoA, Dana and Yoochun's companies, it is believed SM does not want their artists to invest in other companies, but they are free to start their own companies.

3. What about CSJH?
- Just because Lina opened a new business venture does not mean that CSJH is done. Although their original hiatus was believed to be because of Stephanie's injury, it is unsure what her condition is or when the 2010 comeback date is.

4. The 2010 Comeback
- Despite all the false alarms of a comeback in the second half of 2009, it was officially announced by the girls during a live performance in Japan that they would return to Korea until 2010. When exactly in 2010 is unsure.

Finally, although TSZXN will not update on the girl's various blog posts that are unrelated to a CSJH group development, we will follow and report on their outside ventures. Meaning, we will report on any news concerning "Style by L."

CSJH’s Lina is a CEO

Posted by Anonymous On Saturday, November 14, 2009 0 comments

CSJH's member Lina has become the CEO of a shopping mall. She has recently launched a shopping mall by the name of by L Style.

Lina was very involved in the whole process, even styling and modeling the clothes herself. The first collection will hit the runway just in time for the fall/winter season.

In response to this, fans left comments like, "I was curious about what CSJH was up to since the girls haven't been very active. But I'm glad to hear that you have become a shopping mall boss," and "I hope you hit it big as both a singer and shopping mall CEO."

CSJH has been inactive as a group due to Stephanie's injury that happened last March.

The picture of model beauty and grace, Kuroki plays a tough-cookie ballerina who must overcome many obstacles to fulfill her dancing dreams. Directed by Hong Kong filmmaker Lee Chi Ngai (Sleepless Town, Magic Kitchen), this inspirational dancing film wraps an affecting story of family, friendship, romance, and perseverance in soaring scenes of classical ballet and modern dance. The film co-stars heartthrob Hiraoka Yuta (Swing Girls), plus Korean actress Go Ara (Genghis Khan: To the Ends of the Earth and Sea) and Sano Miku (Sunadokei) as friends and rival dancers. Korean boy band Dong Bang Shin Ki, who sing the film's theme song, also make a special cameo appearance in Dance, Subaru!

Walking her own road from a young age, headstrong dancing prodigy Subaru (Kuroki Meisa) is determined to become a professional ballerina, a dream she carries both for herself and her late twin brother. There is no real proof to back this up, it's just to make everyone happy

Stephanie Maxim Interview: One More Time, Sexy!

Posted by Anonymous On Tuesday, June 30, 2009 0 comments
Loosely Translated and Paraphrased from Korean:

One More Time, Sexy!
Cheon Sang Ji Hee The Grace's Stephanie came to visit us.
Frank, candid, and a great body!

-- Before we begin I have to ask. Do you consider yourself a woman or a young girl?
This year I became 20 during the Coming of Age ceremony. So, I feel I am a woman.

-- So before then you felt like a young girl?
No, I've actually felt like a woman for a while. Since I finished middle school I've had to begin working when I came to Korea and lived alone. Also, you need to be strong to survive in the entertainment industry. People will look at me like I'm a boring child. I am neither a young child nor a lady!

-- Since being an adult, how do you think you've changed from being a young girl?
If I meet a guy I like, I act like a young girl. If I were to meet a guy like Josh Hartnett or Ashton Kutcher, my heart would start beating away. I really like foreign actors. I also like Ben Affleck.

-- Are there any Korean actors you like?
I didn't mention any because I have a sort of charisma. I went to the same hairdresser as Mr. Cheong Woo Seong and when I met him I didn't act shocked. I think other people would act a little more animated in that situation.

-- So you didn't have any feelings for him?
It was strong. Very strong. Since I am also an entertainer we can't have close interaction, but I did feel something.

-- In your personal time, do you guys experience any jealously between the group members?
You can probably see our best interactions on reality shows. Of course none of the members are jealous of me. I do not know if they are jealous of each other, but since I am the maknae who debuted last, I rely on my sunbaes for advice and support. But mouths are usually closed when it comes to dancing though. (Laughs)

-- Your dancing is very strong. Is it painful?
I've had back pain in the past. From the age of five I've been practicing ballet. Hip hop and wave dancing are also painful. But not dancing hurts more. So I continue.

-- Ms. Stephanie is as flexible as a mollusk! If you woke up tomorrow as a squid, what would you do?
Well... do squids have brains?

-- Of course. Very, very small though.
I'll jump into the ocean. I won't be able to breath. I won't be able to drink the ocean water. What would you do?

-- Probably take a shower. If a man came after you, what would you do?
A squid has 10 legs right? I'd probably be able to run faster than whoever is chasing me.

-- I guess you don't have to worry about getting caught. Has there ever been a time when you've had to run away from someone?
I try not to run away. I always do things face-to-face. My mom believes that not running away is the right thing to do. I think it's better to think before acting. It would be tiring to run away from things all day. I do whatever I think is natural.

-- If you think about it, you should always do what you should.
(Laughs) It can be annoying to do that. Especially when I think something is of low quality. It's frustrating because you don't want to cry in front of anyone.

-- You're a really strong woman. How was life when you first came to Korea?
During my training days, I would rush back to the hostel if I had a good day. At the time, the walls of my room were decorated with photos of me doing ballet from when I was in America and looking at them would make me cry. Before I debuted, I had a lot of insecurities over the future and looking at those pictures felt like looking at a different person.

-- Have you regretted giving up ballet.
No, not once. When I first decided to become a singer, I promised to never have regret over my decision.

-- Instead of regret, what goes through your mind?
I sometimes do ballet when we aren't on television. Just practicing ballet gives me energy. Truthfully, life as a ballerina is short. This is why children are pushed into it so young. In entertainment, it is the same as a singer becoming a composer. But a ballerina does not understand life without dancing on stage. Even if they aren't very good.

-- How do you manage anti-fans?
I'm computer illiterate. (Laughs)

-- That's probably the best then. When you have time what do you do? Go to the club? Go out drinking?
I don't like randomly going around outside. I'd rather stay at home, drink coffee and read the newspaper. Since I was little I've preferred staying at home. Me and my parents would be in the living room, they would be drinking coffee and I would drink water. It's probably unusual, but I enjoy listening to classical music. Usually the volume is low.

-- That's always enjoyable. What is the craziest thing someone has said to you?
Can I use the squid question? (Laughs) That was a pretty unusual question. If another person asks me what was my most memorable interview, I'll use that.

-- What type of person do you like?
A man who likes the classics and fine art. It's not easy to meet someone who is an exact match though. Someone to talk with over a cup of coffee. But I hate talking about my personal life. I can't be around someone who only talks about themselves. I also don't like when people ask me about the lives of the other members.

-- Don't women use talking as a way to release stress?
It has become a habit for me. When I was in America taking ballet I enjoyed being alone more, because whenever I talked with others it never ended well. I can't change that now. I prefer to be the mysterious entertainer. (Laughs)

-- How do you manage your money?
When I was in America, my parents never gave me an allowance. So I manage it myself. I recently started in stocks.

-- Stocks rely on long term investment. Have you had any yet?
Not yet. After a while the return on investment should be good. Another two months should help it improve. I can't deal too much in the smaller stocks. I'll probably do more around October.

-- Directly managing your money allows you to buy what you want. What is the most expensive thing you have bought?
My bed.

-- Why a bed?
I have a bad back, so it is very important. So I bought a big bed when I got to Korea.

-- You bought a bed based on science?
Yes, that reason! (Laughs)

-- Last question. Who is your role model?
Beyonce. It is my dream to become the Beyonce of Korea. At first, I didn't think Beyonce could sing. It was a misunderstanding. She is a really powerful singer! She is also a great dancer, balancing being sexy and nice. I want people to say "Stephanie will give a great performance no matter where she is" and make them want to become singers!

-- Haven't you already achieved your dream?

Rumor Mill

The following is a rumor posted by amuro_uses_vs from Soompi forums. None of the following information is confirmed, so don't take any of it seriously.

hey
first time posting here

a few news to tell you guys

first, there had been a unconfirmed rumour posted in dreaming cafe, it basically says that steph's aunt(relative?) who's a Physical Education teacher in Korea said steph had fully recovered from her injuries long ago, but she injured herself again on the ankle while doing a ballet performance in the states. She is fine now and will have a perfect comeback.

second, the smtown concert schedule posted on the stadium website is removed and a representative from SM had confirmed that the date is still in negotiation

third, the girls are currently working very hard getting ready for their comeback, Sharpleys, which are us, just need to be a bit more patient. (From SM's plans, i think it is after SNSD's Comeback)

lastly, DANA is having a birthday party on the 19th of July

Loosely Translated and Paraphrased From Japanese:
Lina - A Good Way to Study (6/15)
Everyone, this is Aniki.
First, I want to teach you all a good way to study
On "Tenjochiki*Chiki," when doing my Korean (language) course, I thought of these:
① With daily listening, even listening once a day is helpful!
- Look at the way they talk with their mouth, it is a whole different experience
(She means, listen to the language being spoken and also how it is being spoken. Study the way people who speak Korean form words, as in mouth shapes, etc.)
② Practice with anyone (even Japanese people)!
- Teaching people () is a way to study also
(Practicing with non-fluent people or people who know nothing of the language is beneficial also. You can learn something new teaching things to other people)
③ Study as much as possible!
- For example, the drama "Pride" is coming out, maybe you want to watch it
(Use every chance available. Also, I don't know about the drama "Pride," and she wrote "maybe" in English so...)

Everyone, work together and support these rules!
Study hard!

The following is a direct copy of a post from Soompi Forums by sdplay, a Korean Shapley. The information is translated from the girls' Dreaming Cafe (official Korean fan cafe). It is not sure if the information is 100% correct, but this is the closest to "real" information we have.

Hi! greeting from Korea. Nice to meet you.
I'm not familiar with this site. But I thought I would leave a post.

Stephanie's aunt(is a middle school teacher) said Students "Stephanie's leg is getting better", "If her leg is recover perfect, She will go to Korea or Japan. Don't worry" a few days ago. But it's *not sure* now.

I don't know that you know this, her aunt is a physical education teacher.
(It is not certain) "Her back was almost recovering. She was practicing ballet, hurted her leg"

Don't trust too much.

PopSeoul: CSJH The Grace can sing but is that enough?

Posted by Anonymous On Tuesday, May 05, 2009 6 comments

So what happened to CSJH The Grace?

Looking at some of the comments about T-ara’s lack of originality and the overall lack of solid talent in the Korean music industry, some people hold fond memories of this little group called CSJH the Grace. Most of you will probably not know who they are since SM Entertainment has failed to promote them.

CSJH The Grace in 2005 as an acappella version of Dong-bang-shin-ki. However, SM rightly ditched the acappella concept. With armed with their vocal ability and supposed natural beauty, (although a few “natural” adjustments would not be out of the question), they were left to languish in Korea.

In the past 3 years, they’ve been somewhat back and forth between Korea and Japan. So with a lack of a strong market target, they have yet to build up a crazy fan base. For now though, Rhythm Zone, their management in Japan, has amped up their promotional schedule. The girls have finished their first live tour in late March 2008.

There’s been some speculation about CSJH The Grace making a comeback in Korea sometime soon either this year or the following year. According to CSJH The Grace’s Staff Diary, they’ve been visiting Korea as of late. For what? Possibly just to rest, but fans are holding hope that they are being productive during their time in Korea and working on their comeback.

We could really use a comeback from these ladies, especially in the current landscape of groups that can’t stand to sing without a back-up track and rely on their image too much.
